Yes. Any Minnesota child care provider who is a member of Providers Choice Food Program can get this great day care management software at absolutely no cost!
Currently KIDS 2000 requires a computer with a Windows operating system, a CD-ROM drive and a floppy disk drive to install the computer program, and a modem to send us your claim.
It is recommended that your computer have a minimum of 8 megabytes of RAM or memory and 50 megabytes of available hard drive space.
Throughout the month you enter all of your attendance and menu records into the KIDS 2000 Software program. At the end of the month, you will simply connect your phone line to your
computer or use your internet connection line, press the "submit" button within the software program, and your claim information automatically
gets sent to the Providers Choice office.
No. In order to send us your claim from your computer, you only need to connect your phone line to a modem attached to your computer. If
you already have a separate internet connection line, you can use this to send your claim instead.
If you currently have internet service, you can send your claim over the internet and it will not cost you anything. If you do not have internet service
and you currently incur long-distance phone charges when you call the (612) area code, your cost will be the long distance charge (on your phone bill)
for the time it takes your modem to send us your claim information. This is generally less than one minute a month. If you are dialing locally,
there is no charge.
Yes. Claims can be sent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
No. You are not obligated to use the program once you have tried it. Providers Choice can provide you with a non-computerized option of recording claim records
if the KIDS 2000 Software program isn't for you.
While you are submitting a Food Program claim via your computer, it will not be possible for any outsider to hack their way into your computer.
Therefore, your computer is safe. As with any data being transmitted electronically, there is always a slight chance the claim data
could be corrupted during the transit process. This would be extremely unlikely. Should this ever happen, we would simply have you resubmit your claim.
Providers Choice will only be receiving information pertaining to your Food Program claim, such as your monthly menu and child attendance
information. We will not receive any information recorded in the software program pertaining to your accounting/business records or any information relating to your
daily activities or reports for your parents.
You will be given the option of either displaying your current month's attendance and menu records on your computer screen, or printing those records so that your Area
Coordinator can review them during the visit.
Yes. An accounting component is included within the program that will enable you to record all your business income and expense
records. You can also create invoices for the parents and track the invoices as they are paid. You will be able to create expense
categories (ex. day care food, utilities, etc.) and print reports that detail your income and expense records.
